“Заложник” (Zalozhnik, 2025) — Husky. Mixing: Podlesny Twins (Pavel and Anton Podlesny).
“Заложник” is interesting for its spatial effects. While mixing, I kept feeling that the female vocals were coming from somewhere behind me. It produced a strange, eerie effect: I wanted to turn around, as if someone were calling me.
This track was a real pleasure to mix. We like songs where the transients can be brought out: good work on them makes a mix translate better. Here strong transients came together with interesting, immersive spatial effects.
