The album “Партизан” became one of the most important projects of our whole career. Work on it began in 2021 and wrapped up in 2025. Most of it was done in person, taking each track slowly and carefully to its final form.
By the time we got to this track we had already found the toasted, powerful sound of “Я объявляю вам войну” and “Колобок”. Here it was important to bring out the very loud backing vocals with the dog howl, “у-у”. In the demo they were pushed forward, and that shock balance had to be preserved in the mix.
We paid a lot of attention to the overdriven percussion. Dmitry gave no references, but for some of the engineering decisions I drew on “Power Is Power” and other tracks from the Black Panther album.
