The album “Партизан” became one of the most important projects of our whole career. Work on it began in 2021 and wrapped up in 2025. Most of it was done in person, taking each track slowly and carefully to its final form.
“Колобок” was the first track I mixed after the Mix With The Masters seminar with Andrew Scheps in 2023. I made the first version on headphones in a wooden house in the Leningrad region, where Dmitry was holding his camp. Then we finished the track at the Mixroom studio.
The shouts of “Они хотят меня сожрать” sound especially interesting. Andrew Scheps often uses SansAmp on various instruments, and I decided to try that technique. Although he did not put SansAmp on vocals at the seminar, I used it exactly there and got an expressive overdrive.
Another difficulty was a very top-heavy bass that took up almost the entire frequency range. The main task was to tame it while keeping the power of the track.
